Bitches’ Labor Day Pick

Café Saint-Ex is shutting down T Street to host a Labor Day Street Party, complete with a pig roast and live music, today from 11 am to 5 pm. Food and a selection of beers are available, with all proceeds directly benefiting the Fillmore Arts Center. Café Saint-Ex is at 1847 14th Street NW.

Saks Fifth Avenue is continuing the Fashion Night Out party with a Fall Fashionista Brunch on Sunday. The event will feature a fashion show with local celebs parading down the runway. Plus, mimosas, pastries, and cupcakes for all. With your ticket you also get a swag bag that includes a $25 Saks gift card and other goodies. Get tickets here.


D.C.’s open-mic-and-awesome-food institution Busboys & Poets is turning five (it’s really only been around for five years!?). Celebrate with them this week at one of their three locations. There will be a ton of interesting events, and of course, great food. See the full list here.


Have a spare 15 minutes? Head to the E Street Theater at any point this week to catch a short film or two. It’s DC Shorts Film Festival, showcasing 97 short films from 12 countries. Or hobnob with the stars at one of the opening events on Thursday or Friday (or at their Sunday brunch) .
