Good God. Will someone please tell us how it is already October?

Here’s your social calendar for the slide into fall …

Redskins, Capitals, Wizards, and D.C. United players will be strutting their stuff down a runway (a runway that flanks the pool at the Liason Hotel, no less) Tuesday night to raise money for Becky’s Fund. The Walk This Way Charity Fashion Show always attracts D.C.’s glitterati – and they’re all there to raise funds to support the fight to end and prevent domestic violence. Get tickets here.

Like Spanish wine? Si, you’re in luck this week. The Roof Terrace Restaurant in the Kennedy Center is kicking off a wine tasting series with “The Wines of Spain” featuring the portfolio of renowned importer Jorge Ordonez. Sip your favorite reds or whites and take in the view of D.C. from the terrace. You’ll also get fab Spanish hors d’oeuvres and a little flamenco thrown in, too. Make reservations here.

OK, so this is a little pricey … but it’s definitely going to be worth it. The Ritz-Carlton is hosting a “Night of Extreme Taste,” with 26 celebrity chefs cooking live and serving up the goods for just a few select guests. There will be 13 stations and a dessert buffet, live music and take-home goodies. Go drool over chef Jean Philippe Maury’s creations (he’s the executive pastry chef at Las Vegas’ City Center) and local celeb chef Michel Richard. Get tickets here.

Tyson’s is on fire this week with its “All Access Fashion” events. There are runway shows, in-store events, celebrity appearances and more. The best day to hit it up will be Friday, when more than 50 stores host events and runways shows from the likes of Betsey Johnson and Nicole Miller. And – get this! – at 7 p.m. Patricia Field herself (costume designer for Sex and the City, if you didn’t know) will be the guest of honor at the Paul Sinclaire fall/winter collection show!

Cuba Libre Restaurant & Rum Bar is opening this weekend! Becca went to the Atlantic City spot last year and fell in love with the ’50s Havana flare, food, and dancing. Now, we can get it right around the corner in Chinatown. The best part? For the first week, your dinner check will be 50% off, and from Oct. 8 through 13th, you’ll get 25% off. Make your rezzies quick! (202) 408-1600.

Cori Sue went to Istanbul last month, and ever since, she’s been longing to go back. This Sunday, you can get a taste of Turkey at the Turkish Festival. Food, shopping, dancing, events and, um, the world’s longest shish kebab? Ha! Gotta see that. 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Pennsylvania Avenue NW between 12th & 14th Streets.
