Well. That was a fantastic weekend. There was the H Street Festival, DC Magazine Fashion Show, a fabulous brunch (of course), and more. Recaps to come, my loves. For now, here’s a look at this week’s calendar.
This week is the Great American Dine Out. Eat at participating local restaurants (from Proof to Art and Soul, get the complete list here) and a portion of the check goes to feed hungry kids.
A new Italian spot just opened in Dupont Circle, and we’ve been hearing good things. So nip over to Casa Nonna for your pizza and pasta fix. 1250 Connecticut Ave. N.W., Washington, D.C.
The Shops at Wisconsin Place at hosting a Passport to Style, featuring a fall fashion show, beauty treatments, and giveaways. Your $20 ticket goes to benefit a charity of your choice, we suggest Fashion for Paws. 5-8 p.m.
The call went out for tomato-inspired dishes, and now you get to enjoy the winning entries at the Red Fruit Festival this Friday evening. Pay homage to the tomato, with sauces, salsas, tarts, and more tomato-y goodness – all paired with fabulous wine. We think it’s the perfect Friday night happy hour to start the weekend. Tickets are $35.
Fashion for Autism. An evening of red carpets, style by Columbian designer Edwing D’Angelo, music by maestro pianist Edvinas Minkstimas, a silent auction, and a photography exhibit by Viktorija Juodenaite. Friday, Sept. 24. City Tavern Club, 3206 M Street N.W. Washington, D.C. Tickets: $50, general admission, $100, VIP.
Get yur mug out, it’s Oktoberfest this week – and DC bars and breweries are celebrating with beer specials and parties. The biggest event will be at National Harbor this Saturday and Sunday. Tons of different international beers and food will be under the big tops. Tickets sold so fast , they added another day (and promised three times as many bathrooms as last year – ha!). Get tickets here.
The Lincoln Center is so last week. This week, designers will be showing their spring and summer collections in DC’s gorgeous embassies – all part of DC Fashion Week. A lot of the events are sold out by now, but you can still get tickets to the grand finale: the Sunday night International Couture Collections show at the Embassy of France. For tickets, call (800) 494-8497.
