This week is every fashionista and wino’s wet dream: the mayor has officially sanctioned it DC Wine Week, and Christian Siriano himself is in town for a massive fashion event (and one lucky Bitch is going to get the chance to meet him in person; details below). What could be better than those two combined? Enjoy this week!

José Andrés and his team at Oyamel Cocina Mexicana are celebrating one of Mexico’s greatest traditions, The Day of the Dead. In rural Mexico, people visit the cemetery where their loved ones are buried, bringing marigold flowers and candles to decorate gravesites. Starting today, Oyamel will feature two new cocktails and a special menu showcasing classic dishes from Michoacan, the home of Mexico’s famous forests.

It’s DC Wine Week! See the full schedule here (there are events all week long). Our pick? Bourbon Steak DC and Ruinart Champagne are hosting a tasting of Ruinart Blanc de Blancs matched with food from Chef Adam Sobel. You’ll get to try bubblies from the oldest Champagne house in France and sniff the eight main aromas of Ruinart Blanc de Blancs. The guest who can guess the most aromas correctly will go home with a prize. 7 p.m. at Bourbon Steak at the Four Seasons, 2800 Pennsylvania Ave, NW, $95 exclusive of tax and gratuity; call 202.944.2026 to RSVP.

The Park Hyatt is hosting a dog-friendly Halloween happy hour benefiting the Washington Animal Rescue League Wednesday evening. Admit it: Love Shack is your karaoke song (OK, it’s mine). Grab your friends and head to POV at the W this Thursday evening to belt out that Tin Roof Rusted, karaoke-style, alongside 94.7FM’s Tommy McFly. The W will be hosting rooftop karaoke every Thursday, but this week kicks off the embarrassment with drink specials, signature cocktails, and prizes. 7 to 10 p.m.

Not into singing? Head to Taste of Success, where restaurants such as H Street Country Club, Casa Nonna, Circa, Kellari Taverna, and more will be doling out tons of food and drinks to help provide lower income individuals with job training programs to gain employment. The Carnegie Institution for Science, 1530 P street NW, 7 to 10 pm. Tickets are $65; get them here.
