Gosh, isn’t the weather lovely? It’s the perfect night for Screen on the Green DC. Tonight, watch the classic film Norma Rae. This free outdoor movie event will continue with screenings on Monday evenings at sunset through August 12 with movies shown on a giant 20’ by 40’ screen between 7th and 12th Streets on the National Mall. Films begin at dusk, but the party starts hours before that! Screen on the Green is RAIN or SHINE and will only be shut down if there is lightning.
Henry Ford was born 150 years ago this Tuesday, and D.C. is going to celebrate with hundreds of free cupcakes. This Tuesday from 12-2 p.m. Ford Motor Company will be partnering with Curbside Cupcakes to hand out free cupcakes while supplies last. Curbside Cupcakes Pinky trucks will be located at Metro Center (intersection of G and 12th Streets, N.W.) and Capitol Hill (intersection of D and First Streets, S.E.).
Free smoothies! It’s Jamba Juice’s one-year anniversary in the District this Wednesday, and from 12 to 6 p.m. the stores will be giving away free 16-ounce smoothies at three of their locations: Dupont Circle, Union Station and Montgomery Mall. Everyone’s a winner with a free smoothie, but one lucky person will win free Jamba Juice smoothies for a year.

Over in Arlington, there’s another party Thursday evening at the Making Strides for MS summer happy hour to benefit the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. Don’t miss your last chance for the cutest date-night activity ever. The DC Drive-In has been every Friday this July at Union Market. This unique event is unlike any other summer screening series in the District — a full recreation of a drive-in movie experience.
