Monday

Gosh, isn’t the weather lovely? It’s the perfect night for Screen on the Green DC. Tonight, watch the classic film Norma Rae. This free outdoor movie event will continue with screenings on Monday evenings at sunset through August 12 with movies shown on a giant 20’ by 40’ screen between 7th and 12th Streets on the National Mall. Films begin at dusk, but the party starts hours before that! Screen on the Green is RAIN or SHINE and will only be shut down if there is lightning.

Tuesday

Henry Ford was born 150 years ago this Tuesday, and D.C. is going to celebrate with hundreds of free cupcakes. This Tuesday from 12-2 p.m. Ford Motor Company will be partnering with Curbside Cupcakes to hand out free cupcakes while supplies last. Curbside Cupcakes Pinky trucks will be located at Metro Center (intersection of G and 12th Streets, N.W.) and Capitol Hill (intersection of D and First Streets, S.E.).

Wednesday

Free smoothies! It’s Jamba Juice’s one-year anniversary in the District this Wednesday, and from 12 to 6 p.m. the stores will be giving away free 16-ounce smoothies at three of their locations: Dupont Circle, Union Station and Montgomery Mall. Everyone’s a winner with a free smoothie, but one lucky person will win free Jamba Juice smoothies for a year.

Thursday we’ll be at the Phillips After 5: A Moveable Feast. Eat, drink, and be inspired by Georges Braque’s still lifes: enjoy food trucks sourcing local products including Carmen’s Italian Ice, Rolling Ficelle, Takorean, and more, and create your own still life for a chance to win prizes. Over in Arlington, there’s another party Thursday evening at the Making Strides for MS summer happy hour to benefit the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. The group will be on the back patio at Mad Rose in Arlington on Thursday from 5 to 9 p.m. With your $10 donation at the door, you get extended happy hour specials. RSVP on Facebook here.

Friday

Don’t miss your last chance for the cutest date-night activity ever. The DC Drive-In has been every Friday this July at Union Market. This unique event is unlike any other summer screening series in the District — a full recreation of a drive-in movie experience. Watch classic Washington, D.C.-centric films on Union Market’s huge 3-story wall. Enjoy pre-show festivities, including live music, contests and special giveaways. And of course, dine on the fresh and fabulous offerings of Union Market’s vendors — served by rollerskating car hops! This Friday is the final night, with the movie No Way Out. Get there by 7 p.m. as the movie begins at 9 p.m.

Sunday

Get brunch then head to the DC Mid City Dog Days sale, happening all weekend long. Dog Days brings together the more than 100 stores, restaurants, performing arts venues, and galleries that make up the city’s most culturally diverse neighborhood. For two days, MidCity patrons will have to opportunity to save big at their favorite boutiques and enjoy specials at their favorite bars and restaurants. 14th Street, all weekend.
