This Week in NYC: March 3-9

Hallelujah, March is here! This means the beginning of a month that offers scattered warm weather days, parades with green beer in multiple boroughs, Mardi Gras celebrations, and friends emerging from the depths of their winter hibernations. March brings a hope of spring, and with that, we offer a week full of good vibes.

We love a good deal, especially one that includes both margaritas and tacos. Which is why we’re all over Empellon Taqueria’s taco tasting, which will feature six of their new tacos and a complimentary marg for $55. Seatings are from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Reserve your spot by filling out the form here, contacting [email protected], or calling at (212) 367-0999. 230 West 4th St.

Fat Tuesday is incomplete without a Mardi Gras celebration, which is why we suggest you head to The Dutch in Soho, which is offering a special $75 fixed price menu, featuring cajun and creole food, live music, and cocktail specials. Reservations are still available, but walk-ins are also welcome. 131 Sullivan St. (212) 677-6200

Clinton St Baking Co

I recently experienced the pancakes at Clinton St. Baking Co, and think everyone should add this to their bucket list for 2014. Avoid the two hour brunch wait and get breakfast for dinner instead! Offering the same delicious pancake dishes but without the massive crowds, this is a no brainer.  4 Clinton St. (646) 602-6263

I can’t think of a better way to spend your Thursday evening than listening to the croons of Paul Simon and Sting in Madison Square Garden. Talk about a powerhouse! Try your luck at Stubhub here.  4 Pennsylvania Plaza

Today marks the end of Restaurant Week, meaning it’s the last day to get a multi-course meal at a fancy-pants restaurant that you’d normally avoid due to price. Use this official guide to survey your options and secure a reservation.

Last week, I had a blast celebrating NYC Beer Week at Brewers Choice. Not only did it expose me to many new types of brews, but it also opened my eyes to the number of breweries we have access to locally. I highly recommend taking a day trip to Brooklyn Brewery in Williamsburg this Saturday, where they’ll be open from 12 – 8 p.m., and offering free “no reservation” tours every half an hour from 1 – 5 p.m. 79 North 11th St. in Williamsburg, Brooklyn.

Fat Radish brunch

Sunday brunch! We recommend trying the full English breakfast at the Fat Radish in the LES. 17 Orchard St.
