Happy Monday! Emily is off to a fabulous beach vacay in Costa Rica (lucky Bitch), so I’m holding down the fort here in blustery NYC. I’m still in severe denial that it’s 35 degrees in spring so I’m eating and drinking my feelings with a jam-packed social calendar. From a mac and cheese festival to a chance to win tickets to a swanky wine event, here’s what we have on deck this week.
One thing we love more than food is when food can benefit a great cause. Blue Hill in Greenwich Village is transforming into wastED, a pop-up devoted to the theme of food waste and re-use, until the end of the month. The pop-up features daily menus from more than 20 celebrity chefs and collaborates with local farmers, fishermen, distributors, retailers, and more. Make a reservation here. 75 Washington Place, New York, NY
With Mad Men entering its final season, get cultured and check out the Mad Men exhibit at the Museum of the Moving Image in Astoria. The new exhibit explores the creative process of the hit series and offers a behind-the-scenes peek of the show sets, costumes, and script pages. The exhibit runs until June 14th. 36-01 35th Ave, New York, NY
Happy Wine Wednesday! April 17th is Malbec World Day and accordingly, there is a fabulous bash with an extensive wine tasting, Argentinean steak, empanadas, and live music to celebrate. In New York, Argentine cultural life is recreated for a night at the Gallery in the Dream Downtown Hotel. More information about the Malbec World Day event here. We’re giving away two tickets to this exclusive fete! Follow @BWBrunchNYC on Twitter and tell us your favorite kind of Malbec using #malbecworldday.
It’s almost the weekend so treat yourself to some meat and vino. Until April 12th, Morton’s The Steakhouse at both the World Trade Center and Manhattan locations in New York City is offering a $45 Prime & Wine special available in the bar area. You’ll get to feast on the Million Dollar Burger, which includes decadent foie gras, black truffle butter, and braised short ribs. Go ahead, you deserve it. Various locations.
There’s nothing that screams spring like a bright Trina Turk frock, so load up on warm-weather essentials during the Trina Turk sample sale. The sale runs until Sunday beginning at 10:30 a.m. and ending at 7 p.m., except on Sunday with a 5 p.m. end time. Chelsea Market, 75 Ninth Ave, New York, NY
