Find Brunch Right Now

This Week in NYC: March 17-23

Yesterday, I woke up to a very early alarm to join the 20,000+ runners who traveled to New York City to compete in the NYC Half Marathon.  I’ve committed the past two months to hours of training, emptied my paychecks for orthotics and gear, and suffered through injuries to run the 13.1 mile loop from Central Park to Financial District..and it was totally worth it!  That being said, this week’s guide is focused on recovery, rejuvenation, and (of course) food!

Also: It’s Bitches Who Brunch’s fourth birthday! To celebrate, we’re lauching the next phase of the site: a weekly enewsletter, which will be delivered every Tuesday morning. Make sure you sign up for the New York email, the D.C. email, or both!

Which city? Or both?

Happy St. Patrick’s Day! I am still in dehydrated detox mode from my race, but please all drink an extra green beer for me. But before that, sneak out on your lunch break to check out the 253rd St. Patrick’s Day parade through NYC, starting at 44th St. at 11:00 a.m.

In celebration of Bitches Who Brunch’s four year anniversary, we’re thrilled to be launching a brand new weekly e-newsletter, delivered to your inboxes every Tuesday morning to recap our Bitchin’ posts covering our range of food, fashion, kitchen and lifestyle. You can specify if you prefer to receive our NYC or DC-centric posts, or both! Stay tuned for info on how to select your newsletter preferences.

Being halfway through the work week can be both hopeful and exhausting, which means your body may be begging for a solid yoga session right about now. Us Bitches love Bikram Yoga NYC, a studio that offers affordable ($8!) hot yoga classes in four different locations.

Macaron Day 2013

Today is NYC’s official Macaron Day, which means that some of the best bakeries in NYC are offering free macarons to visitors who mention the holiday. Participants include Bouchon Bakery, BisousCiao, Butterfield Market, and Macaron Cafe.  Check out the full list here.

There’s no better way to prep your Friday evening than with a new makeover. Rouge New York, a new makeup bar in NYC, offers three looks at different price points to give you a fresh face. Get a snazzy look for under 30 minutes, all $75 and under. 130 Thompson St. 212-388-1717

Cori Sue recently enjoyed the beignets and atmosphere at her brunch at The Greenwich Project in the West Village, and you will too. 47 W 8th St.

After a vigorous workout at Equinox, Bitch in the City Ally loved her healthy but indulgent brunch at Candle 79, where she feasted on a butternut squash and mushroom crepe. Candle 79’s brunch in the Upper East Side begins at  noon. 154 E 79th St.
