Although we all convinced ourselves it has been summer since Memorial Day Weekend, this week actually marks the official start of the sun-shining, smelly sidewalk season in New York. Our agenda is jam-packed with fun foodie events like a conversation with Stacy London at The Sosta and the launch of Summer Friday brunch at BK hotspot Barano. As always, we hope to see you out brunching over the weekend. Keep reading for this week’s social agenda.
Mondays mean extra coffee, especially in the summertime. Head on over to any of Toby’s Estate Coffee’s five locations throughout the city to get your hands on their brand new Black + Almond Cold Brew. This pre-bottled drink comes as the answer to Toby’s growing non-dairy customer base and is the perfect ice cold commuter beverage. “It’s been a labor of love to create the perfect balance of creamy almond milk, our signature cold brew and a touch of organic cane sugar, and we are excited to share this delicious flavor and texture,” says Toby’s Estate co-founder Amber Jacobsen. We Bitches are already loving it! Let us know what you think. Multiple Locations
In celebration of the summer solstice, West Village staple Rosemary’s is putting on a third anniversary bash at their Jefferson Market Garden this evening. Proceeds will benefit their farm about 90 minutes north of New York City, which provides sustainably grown produce to the restaurant and community. “Join Stacy London, stylist, fashion consultant, author, and editor and Ali LaRaia, Executive Chef/Co-Founder of The Sosta for a night of intimate conversation and carbo-loading!” On the agenda is a talk about food & lifestyle which we all know is a topic of interest for London after overcoming struggles in the realm. The evening wouldn’t be complete without lots and lots of pasta tasting including Stacy’s Summer Primavera available for the rest of the month at The Sosta. 186 Mott Street
We are crazy about MOFAD’s events and this one is no different. Us New Yorkers have become accustomed to top quality ingredients at affordable, fast-casual restaurants, but this wasn’t always the norm. Have you ever thought about the meat that’s actually sourced for some of your favorite dishes? The Meatball Shop’s Executive Chef, Daniel Sharp, is speaking this evening with Emily Pearson of Heritage Foods USA on topics like their business model, how their meatballs stand out, and the future of the brand. You’ll also get tasting samples and a cooking demo. 62 Bayard Street, Brooklyn
Celebrating Summer Friday? South Williamsburg’s nuovo-Italian destination Barano is unveiling a brand new patio with seating for 14 and extending brunch service (with an updated menu) to include Fridays just for you. In true Bitch fashion, it’s not a weekend without brunch. We recently hit up Mexicue in Chelsea, Epistrophy in Nolita, and Caffe Dante in the Village. All three were some of our favorite brunches to date and perfect for the summer season. Happy brunching!
