I think we all begin our weeks with heavy hearts as we question how it’s already the last week of summer. The only buffer between us and our seasonal depression is the approaching holiday weekend. The long weekend is yet another reason to participate in an extra amount of fun activities, as we soak up our chilled watermelon cocktails and al fresco dining in our last few days of white jeans. Monday

Start your week off right with a new happy hour at Cherry Izakaya, sister Brooklyn restaurant of Cherry at Dream Downtown.  The happy hour will run from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, and will include discounted drinks and snacks. Pretty soon, crab feasts will be a distant memory as we feast on all things pumpkin and squash. Before we get nostalgic, we’re closing the summer in a big way at Back Forty’s annual crab-a-palooza, which returns tonight and runs through August 30. Last week, Ally and I thoroughly enjoyed the bespoke cocktails at popup bar La Isla Escondida in Mulberry Project’s back garden.
