Meet your preppy shopping needs at the 116 Holiday Pop-Up in Alexandria. This year, the pop-up has partnered with The Skinny Dip–a preppy Nantucket-based shop. The 116 King Holiday Pop-Up will incorporate thirteen of the brands marketed by The Skinny Dip as well as fifteen brands of its own. The market will run from November 10 through December 31. Perry’s executive chef Thomas Park is collaborating with Water & Wall’s Chef de Cuisine John Leavitt on a five-course dinner and whisky tasting. This intimate dinner is great opportunity to talk to the chefs and learn more about Japanese whisky. The event will begin with canapés and a cocktail reception with specials from guest bartender Mike Barton from Dram & Grain. (Who needs an excuse to eat oysters?) Join Anacostia Riverkeeper, a charity that works to clean the Anacostia, at Whaley’s restaurant, in the Capitol Riverfront, for the launch of a new oyster brand: the “River Keeper.” Whaley’s and Rappahanock Oyster Co. have created a branded oyster highlighting the ecological benefits of oysters in our waterways. Whaley’s will donate a portion of  the proceeds to the work of Anacostia Riverkeeper. A launch event will be held Wednesday night, November 16, between 5 and 7pm to kick it off.
