Have you checked out the Museum of Contemporary Art’s latest mega-exhibit, “Pop Art Design”? This exhibit celebrates the work of Andy Warhol and his highly celebrated peers. Take a look at how Warhol’s paintings of Marilyn Monroe and Campbell’s soup cans, influenced the look of chairs, sofas, lamps, and even architecture during the culturally ebullient 1960s and 1970s. We made it through the week Bitches! Now it is time to ease right into the weekend with a happy hour head into River North to check out the happy hour at Trouquet. Trouquet is a quaint little French restaurant and bar in the heart of River North with eclectic and urban decor. Happy hour specials include $4 beers (some exclusions), $5 house cocktails and $6 glasses of house red and white draft wine. Looking for something to do late night? Appellation, the restaurant within Pastoral Andersonville, debuted their new Brunch menu last weekend, and this weekend we will be heading north to check it out! Brunch dishes include Baked French Toast, Eggs Baked in a squash-herb cream sauce with Prosciutto, Steak and Eggs and a Warm Mushroom & Kale Salad. For more information click here. Donut Fest is back! For the third year in a row, Chop Shop is serving up doughnuts with its Donut Fest in Wicker Park. Come celebrate the love of fried sugary dough with a competition of yeast, batter-y, deep-fried treats. The best restaurants and bakeries in Chicago submit their best cruller, ring or long-john and compete against each other with only one walking away with the coveted title of “Best Donut.” Vendors include Glazed and Infused, Stan’s Donuts, Doughnut Vault, Firecakes, Longman & Eagle, and many others!
