It’s still snowing outside and winter in Chicago feels like it may never end at times. Thankfully we have a full week of great things happening all over the city and none of them involve being outside. Plus, Restaurant Week has been extended!
Last week we shared our Chicago Restaurant Week rundown with you all, and today we have some extra exciting news —Chicago Restaurant Week has been extended for an additional three days at select restaurants! We couldn’t be more excited about this news and Choose Chicago is making it easy to plan. Chicago is home to many incredible museums including the Museum of Contemporary Art, The museum is one of the largest contemporary art venues in the world and just so happens to offer free admission to visitors every Tuesday. The museum is open from 10am – 9pm, and it is the perfect place to decompress and revive your creative energy after a long day at work. And don’t worry about needing to make separate dinner plans, Marisol is located in the museum and is one of our newest favorite eateries in the city. Valentine’s Day is just a week away, but let’s not forget about Galentine’s Day! Gather a few of your girlfriends and head over to Chocolat Uzma in the Pilsen neighborhood and delight in one of their chocolate making classes. These classes promise to show you how to produce beautiful chocolates that will make all of your Instagram followers turn to their cupboards in search of a sweet treat . Each class is $65 per person, but promises lots of delicious goodies to take home with you! Chicago Theatre Week kicks off Thursday February 8th and runs through Sunday, February 18th. The 10 -day celebration is in honor of Chicago’s world famous theatre scene and offers visitors the opportunity to select from over 120 productions across the city at discounted rates. Live from New York, it’s the Saturday Night Live: The Experience, exhibit at Chicago’s Museum of Broadcast Communications. The exhibit just arrived in the city after finishing it’s two year run in you guessed it, New York. The exhibit spans across two floors and takes visitors through a full week at SNL, ending with Saturday night in Studio 8H. From original costumes to set pieces to original clips of the show, the exhibit gives visitors a real look into the entire production process of the famed show. The Windy City is famous for many things, but we’re pretty confident that it’s biggest claim to fame is the pizza. On Saturday February 10th, twenty of Chicago’s top pizza restaurants will be gathering for the Chicago Pizza Party at the Ravenswood Event Center. All restaurants in attendance will be competing for the title of “Best Pie in the Chi”. This is an event you can’t miss, complete with a rooftop beer garden and top DJs.
