We all have those items in our closet we just love—and the looks that make our own style unique.
For me, I’ve always been a sucker for skirts. The flippier and flirtier the skirt, the better, was my credo. Certainly, I’ve evolved and matured from the Abercrombie & Fitch floral skirts of the high school beach days—and those were good days! But, I still can’t stop myself from snagging the occasionally skirt with a flouncy hem. They’re feminine and fun, which is how I prefer my fashions.
This polka-dot trumpet skirt caught my eye, but polka dots and a flirty hem seemed a bit much—even for me. But, something about the neutral white-and-grey color scheme told me it would work.
I’ve always been drawn to all neutral looks—but with a print, texture, or something a bit different. There’s something pulled together about an ensemble in one color palette that I just adore. So, for spring, we’re recommending you pick up a few unique, textured pieces in those white, grey, ivory, and beige shades. (Our picks are below.)
While I’m a slave to high-end fashion, I’m also not made of money. I’ve been turning to more-affordable, trendy retailers like ASOS, TopShop, and a new favorite—Necessary Clothing—for fun, trendy pieces that I incorporate with my basic staples. Speaking of basic staples, I have about a dozen grey t-shirts—someone stop me—they’re flattering and go with everything I own. What fashion items are you addicted to?
Shop our picks for the best spring neutral skirts, with a twist, below. Because there’s a difference between making a statement and going overboard.
