The vernal equinox is behind us, so I am finally throwing in the towel and trading my winter parka and fur snood for spring brights. I recently returned from a lovely, and much needed, getaway in Punta Mita, Mexico, and I’m ready to show off my newly tanned legs with this season’s on-trend neon mini skirts.
A bold mini will make a statement, so I love toning down this look with a classic chambray shirt. You could almost call this the mullet of fashion: business up top, party on the bottom. That’s the first and last time you’ll see me use the words mullet and fashion in the same sentence.
An easy half tuck of the button-down makes this outfit effortlessly cool and just slightly undone. The casualness of the chambray is perfect for brunch, running errands, or happy hour with the girls depending on your accessories and footwear.
I’m a shoe gal and the possibilities of accompanying footwear are endless with this look. By day, a pair of simple white chucks or D’Orsay flats will support a girl on the go. At night, nude heels will elongate your legs and draw attention to your punchy skirt.
A bold lip can be your best accessory and a great confidence booster! I love a full neon pout paired with the electric mini. Bright pink and coral will complement a variety of skirt hues.
We’ll be stepping out in bold colors this spring at patio brunches near you. Here are some chambray and neon looks we’re currently loving.
