I think my obsession with lemons dates back to my first trip to Positano, Italy, at the impressionable age of 14. Flash forward 16 years and I still associate lemons with the endless, winding cliffside groves of the Amalfi coast, streets lined with stunning citrus ceramics, and sneaking sips of limonata from my aunt after dinner in town. The scent, the scene, it was all so…chic.
I’ve been incorporating lemons into my summer in more ways than one this year. The flirty fruit makes me nostalgic for vacations in Italy and turns out to be an adorable and quintessential summer pattern.
The Limonata print comes in various skirts, crop tops, and dresses. What I love about this dress is that you can wear it completely off the shoulder or with the over-the-shoulder straps–which are cinched by bows–separated from the sleeves. It’s feminine and fun and will undoubtedly put a smile on your face the minute you finish tying the slew of bows. I won’t lie, this dress definitely requires all hands on deck, thanks to the various bows located at awkward angles.
For the farmers market, I paired one of my favorite purchases of the summer, this Love and Lemons Limonata dress, with my lightweight lemon Soludos, and my favorite Clare V. market bag. If you haven’t worn a pair of Soludos it’s not too late! The rope soled espadrilles are perfect for running errands to pairing with short summer dresses. I rarely leave town without them. The flirty outfit transitions easily to a summer brunch date too.
