The Lust List: Festival Style with South Moon Under

Summer in the District is my favorite season—as I’m a Florida girl and I like it hot, hot, hot. Many people flee the city as the temps warm up, but I prefer to stay in town and take advantage of the reduced crowds. I’ll revisit some of the oh-so-popular restaurants, hang by the pool, and see the friends I want to see—things are slower in the summer and I appreciate that.

The best thing about being self-employed is I no longer have to wear pencil skirts and blazers—it’s athleisure and rompers for me—weekend wear all day, every day. While it’s hard for me to expand beyond my Rolodex of rompers, I love the selection of laid back, functional, and festival-inspired pieces at South Moon Under these days. The local fashion chain (with locations in Clarendon, Bethesda, Baltimore and elsewhere) has the most perfect mix of affordable fashions and sunglasses, as well as high end hand bags (like Rebecca Minkoff) and cute accessories (like notepads, jewelry trays, and coffee mugs).

To me, South Moon Under is the perfect store for summer style for beach weekends, music festivals, or this work-play lifestyle I have going on. So, we partnered with them to highlight our favorite summer styles—you can shop Steph’s favorites here.

There’s nothing I love more than navy and lace, so I picked out this little two-piece set to wear to an afternoon of cocktails, corn hole, and oysters outside at Union Market. Bitches love a good two piece set—though I was pleased this JOA set offered shorts rather than a skirt. I added turquoise earrings for an unexpected color combination and a fringe backpack for some Boho vibes—voilá! I’m out the door for a perfect summer weekend in the city.

As I have thick, thick hair, I don’t actually know how to style it in any way but down or in a ponytail. So, I turned to Logan 14 to give me a blowout and a waterfall braid. The style was an easy way to keep my hair out of my face on  a long, hot summer weekend and an easy addition to any blowout. Logan 14 will have a braid bar at our event on August 2—details below!
