The Lust List: 60s Style

In honor of throwback Thursday, we’re featuring 60s style today. And, it’s not just because we love instagram. Sixties inspired looks were all over the runway this fall: twinsets, bouffants, boxy hand bags, Peter Pan collars, mini-skirts, kitten heels, and thigh-high boots. While  my love of the 60s began as a child, I spotted the fall trend back in July with 60s style Roman Holiday shoot in Vogue. When I didnt think it could get any better, the magazine also featured everyone’s favorite fashion darling, Cara Delevigne, in a bouffant, wool mini, and a trench running around London, for a look I just had to emulate.  (She was also rockin’ 60s brights in the U.K. Vogue)

While it was still hot in Washington, we transitioned to fall in mod style with matching boxy tops and twinsets, like this little number from Top Shop. We’ve put our picks for the best twosies– skirt and top ensembles- in all sorts of 60s inspired patterns: florals, geometrics, and more. While it’s still warm, we’ll pair these outfits wit nude sandals, kitten heels,  or ballet flats.

We’re going to continue to rock 60s style all fall long, snapping up plaid wool minis to wear with turtlenecks, tights, and thigh high boots. For the office, a wool shift dress, kitten heels and a ladylike satchel will suffice. We’ll surely be back to Drybar for a bouffant, which is a surprisingly fun and easy take on a regular blowout.
