Merry, merry, Bitches! Tis the season to be jolly and we have a lot to be thankful for. We’re announcing our Best & Worst Brunch picks of 2014 for DC and NYC, introducing the Bitch Shop just in time for holiday shopping, and launching our third city, Chicago. We’ve been working away in Santa’s workshop and can’t wait to finally unwind with a glass of champs, sequined accessories, and friends and family.
This month, we’re lusting after glitzy metallics, luxe faux fur, rich silks, and crushed velvet to get us through the holiday party circuit. As natural multi-taskers, the Bitches love fashion and function so our picks are versatile and great for cold-weather layering with opaque tights, scarves, and knits. Mix and match our December favorites whether you are escaping the blustery winds with a cozy brunch or jetting off to a swanky soiree. Below is a recap of our top apparel, accessories, and beauty products from our editors in DC, NYC, and Chicago.
Instead of a cocktail frock, DC Bitch Cori Sue will be wearing sequin jogger pants to the next fete for a change from the norm. Nordstrom has some affordable options by Topshop and Trouve. Speaking of non traditional holiday attire, these gold-and-ivory striped shorts from Tibi are sure to be a standout hit at any holiday affair– if you dare.
Need a look appropriate for the office holiday party? DC Social Bitch Annie likes how easy this Shoshanna jumpsuit is. Miss Becca will look stylish at her work holiday party in a satin knee-length skirt in gold by Tibi. The chic, ladylike piece can be dressed up or down.
Chicago Social Bitch Amber can’t wait to wear her champagne (and drink it too) with the Ark & Co. All Over Sequin Mini. Speaking of sparkles, looking holiday party ready has never been easier with this Tildon Sequin Blazer. DC Baby Bitch Amanda will throw it over her favorite sheath, top, or even jumpsuit, and she’s golden.
Nothing says the holidays like glam faux fur. Bitch in the City Ally loves a fur jacket with a pop of color like this ombre version from Revolve, or this navy and black two-tone coat from Forever 21 at a lower price point.
The fit & flare Twelfth Street by Cynthia Vincent Beaded Party Dress has a beautiful necklace bib detail with a matching back design. Amber thinks it’s a fun pick for any holiday soiree. Amanda knows this ASOS Red Carpet sequin skater dress will make her the belle of any belle. It can take her from a glitzy holiday party to a New Year’s Eve fete in a flash.
Having a casual girls’ holiday get together? Amanda will be donning this Piperlime sequined sweater over skinny denim or her favorite pencil skirt. It’s less than $100, but looks far more luxe than the price tag.
Who says winter pants have to be boring? Annie loves how the blue of these velvet skinnies pop against the dreary winter neutrals. Ally loves tossing on silk trousers, like this C. Wonder pair, to layer with warm, bulky sweaters. To really make a statement, try this bedazzled trousers from JOA at Nasty Gal.
Nothing says holiday better than a pair of sequin pumps with a red dress. We’re taking our footwear up a notch this season with the glitter and marabou pumps from Kate Spade. They’re just too much– in a good way. Amanda will be wrapping her feet up with a bow with these fabulous Betsey Johnson heels. They are perfect for the holiday season, but will be also be a staple after New Year’s.
We’re a big fan of flats, so we’ll be rockin these glitter DKNY kicks to work, to play, and to partake in holiday fun. We also own many a pair of smoking slippers, especially the quirky, velvet numbers by C. Wonder. Ally particularly likes the cheeky sayings and classic preppy crests.
It’s hard to find winter boots that can handle the elements and still look good. That’s why Annie recommends these Louise et Cie over-the-knee boots. They pair well with skirts and skinnies, and have a sturdy heel to keep you standing straight.
The From St. Xavier sparkle clutch is the perfect amount of glitz. It’s Amber’s favorite bag to carry throughout the month of December. When Amanda’s outfit needs an extra pop to send it over the top, she straps this Aldo beaded pocketbook over her shoulder. It gives instant glam without having to try too hard.
Amber adores how the simple 360 studs from BaubleBar make a statement without getting in the way. Plus, the set comes with three color options! Another BaubleBar fave, we’re loving how the Opal Wreath Collar necklace is neutral enough to match multiple holiday party looks.
The pony hair makes these cheetah print leather gloves feel ladylike. The Kate Spade pair will keep Annie’s fingers warm all winter. Ally will bundle up with this winter white faux fur scarf from C. Wonder, the perfect stocking stuffer.
You never know who is under the mistletoe so we are completing our December looks with a swipe of red lipstick and a sassy cat eye. Annie might just linger wearing MAC’s Relentlessly Red lipstick. Pucker up!
The ultimate winter beauty accessory is the Sara Happ Lip Scrub. Amber uses it to keep her lips moisturized and soft. Plus, it makes a perfect base for your favorite winter lipstick. Pair with a bold brow, expertly groomed with cult favorite Anastasia Beverly Hills‘ brow kit.
Ally lathers up with The Body Shop’s honey bronze shimmering dry oil to moisturize parched winter skin while giving herself a subtle, and much needed, glow.
Amber stays flawless all day & night with the Urban Decay All Nighter Makeup Setting Spray. It keeps your look in place for up to 16 hours, a must-have during the busy holiday season.
Annie is gifting all the Bitches in her life the OPI Trend on Ten Mini Kit. The 2014 Holiday colors make perfect stocking stuffers. Amanda will be adding instant sparkle to any outfit with Bobbi Brown’s limited edition nail polish. The glimmer will be catching guests’ eyes all night.
Amanda’s holiday party beauty look will be complete with this party essentials set from Sephora. The pack comes with nine items including a champagne hued highlighter for night and dry shampoo for rushing out the door to the next morning’s brunch.
