Pearl Tavern is one of the loveliest restaurants in the city, not to mention our go-to spot for oysters and dirty martinis. After having been open almost three years now in the heart of the the Loop on Wacker Drive, Pearl Tavern finally unveiled the highly anticipated river-facing back patio.
The event was somewhat of a networking event for fashion, food, and lifestyle bloggers, so of course we were there. It was so nice to meet with some of the Chicago bloggers that we have been admiring on our Instagram feed for many years. This was the most chic and fashionable group of young professionals that I have ever seen.
The event was sponsored by our favorite summertime libation, Whispering Angel Rosé, and glasses of wine were complimented with light bites courtesy of chef Frank Valdez.
The weather was perfect, and more than 100 people packed on to the huge back patio to enjoy city views and the sunset on the river. The back patio is seriously awesome and should be envied by other restaurants in the area. While the Loop tends to shut down post-office hours and on weekends, Pearl Tavern gives life to the area, and a reason for people to hang out after work or come in on the weekends for a change.
The food at Pearl Tavern is delicious, and it will keep you coming back. But if you don’t know that for yourself, then take our word for how awesome the new back patio is. That will be what gets you in the door, and the food and awesome cocktails will be what keep you coming back. The river walk patio is superb, and we plan on enjoying many a cocktail or a glass of rosé on the patio this summer.
