It’s no secret that Miss Lily’s is one of my favorite restaurants in lower Manhattan. I’m a sucker for a great theme and love Miss Lily’s authentic Jamaican vibe from the reggae tunes streamed from its in-house internet radio station, island motifs on the walls, working record store, organic juicery, and out of this world jerk chicken. It’s a great place to chill with a cup of special Jamaican blend coffee or settle in for an afternoon of bottomless brunch debauchery.
Now that the restaurant has expanded from its original SoHo location on Houston to a new location on 7th and Avenue A in the East Village, it’s far too easy to stop in for a quick frozen Dark and Stormy cocktail. You’ll be joined by funky locals in an array of bold prints, relaxed denim, and edgy leather boots. We’re inspired by the festive colors, deep bass, and general lack of inhibition at Miss Lily’s and recommend an adventurous look to accompany your round of Red Stripes. For our next brunch, we’ll don a neon midi, a casual tee, and layer chunky knits with sturdy leather for the fall weather.
At Miss Lily’s, don’t miss the grilled jerk corn, coconut pancakes, and fantastic bottomless special (read our full brunch review here).
