As hard for me as it is to admit, I have to say I’m probably the least stylish out of everyone on the Bitches Who Brunch team. Cori Sue always looks perfectly polished and put together, and Becca always looks effortlessly flawless.
Both of them constantly receive texts from me begging for fashion advice whenever we make plans to bond. It just doesn’t come naturally to me. Luckily, they create a weekly Lust List that’s filled with shopping suggestions on certain trends and styles, which I mimic post haste.
One of the more recent Lust Lists was all about STYLECABLE, an online marketplace for emerging designers where you can find modern, edgy, and classic pieces. The company kicked off the launch of their site with a Pop Up Party at 1776, complete with a photo booth, a lash and lip bar, cocktails, tasty treats, and last but not least, jewelry and clothes available for purchase.
I met up with Becca, Deidre, and Laurene, a friend from work, to peruse the items and enjoy a night of shopping and fun. If I thought I was mildly fashionably challenged before, this event put even my most stylish outfit to shame. Women with perfectly quaffed hair, five inch heels, and unbelievably trendy outfits mixed and mingled with men who were equally as well put together. Music pumped through the air as everyone imbibed on wine and fashion.
I spent the evening taking notes from the fashionistas surrounding me, debating on whether I could pull off the Erica Shrieber crop top and pencil skirt duo in sky blue. I also loved the DJ spinning that night, and the adorable candy bar, complete with cake pops and branded cookies. STYLECABLE clearly knows how to throw a party, and has all the makings of a successful launch.
