Recap: Fete of Fashion
Well, well. Aren’t we lucky Bitches? Miss Cori Sue was invited to be a celebrity model in the Saks Fifth Avenue fall fashion show hosted by DC Magazine last Saturday. The event, a Fete of Food, Fashion, and Fun, was held at DC’s Policy. I, of course, was stationed proudly as her official photographer. The girl has been running 50 miles a week in preparation for the Marine Corps Marathon. It was only appropriate that she flaunt her fantastic figure in designer duds.

Under the glittery chandeliers, hot lights and, um, graffiti, she cat-walked. And in a gorgeous Alice + Olivia gray sheath dress, no less (with hot leather paneling down the side!). Also in the ensemble: A grey leopard print coat by Gryphon that was to-die-for. All of the clothes are available at the Saks in Tyson’s.

The best part of the evening was getting to mix and mingle with all the other local personalities/philanthropists/entrepreneurs who paraded down the runway. Katherine Kennedy was topped with an awesome blonde mohawk-mane (I hope she rocked that hair all night!), and K Street Kate (always fab to run into the lovely Kate) wore skin-tight leather pants. Go girl!
We’d been dying to meet Aureta Thomollari, president of DNA Luxury Consulting and a fashion blogger at aureta.net. Cori Sue and I have been lusting after her wardrobe for months on the Web. She was even more gracious, poised, and charming in person. Aureta, who styled herself, wore an Alice + Olivia sequin blazer and feather skirt, paired with her own Gucci sandals. Check out her fabulous style and her phenomenal collection of designer and vintage pieces on her blog. I mean, the girl could open a museum (can you tell I’m jealous?).
