The ladies of Brand LinkDC sure can throw a party. Their latest shindig was hosted at the Residences on the Avenue, an upscale complex located in Foggy Bottom that, upon opening, is now the most expensive apartment building in the city. (And, of course, it’s filled with GWU kids).

The Residences hosted a┬álovely party on the rooftop to celebrate Sex and the City author Candace Bushnell‘s latest book, Summer in the City, the follow-up to the Carrie Diaries. The event was hosted by Sophie and Katherine, co-founders of Georgetown Cupcake, NBC4’s Eun Yang, and Veronica Valencia, wife of the Mexican ambassador.

The petite, blonde, lovely Bushnell was on hand autographing copies of her new book, which happens to be pink. There was champagne, delicious appetizers and mini Georgetown cupcakes. The pool on the roof of the Residences on the Avenue is absolutely enormous, and the view of the National Mall and downtown Washington is spectacular.

New beauty shop Nectar Skin Bar was on-hand with a “lipstick bar,” dolling up attendees. Neiman Marcus Mazza Gallerie also created a Carrie Bradshaw-themed closet in one of the apartment units.

Sadly, I did not win the $500 pair of Manolo Blahniks (the devastation), but I did go home with a Georgetown cupcake and an autographed copy of Summer in the City, which I plan to read by the pool this weekend. Make sure you get your copy; they’re available now.
