Another week, another fabulous soiree thrown by BrandLinkDC. The preppiest of prepsters and social circuit regulars game out in throngs to celebrate the opening the opening of the new Brooks Brothers in Georgetown.
At three stories and 20,000 square feet, the new store is filled with all the wardrobe essentials necessary for man, woman, and child to live a perfectly curated preppy life. Downstairs, there’s even a pool table and a bar—you know, in case you’d like to hang out while you shop.
Additionally, it’s a new Brooks Brothers concept—not unlike Rugby is to Ralph Lauren—with a lot more pops of color, casual attire, and collegiate apparel. Bright scarves and UVA and Georgetown ties were interspersed among the typical blazers and slacks of Brooks Brothers Guests sipped on wine and signature pink cocktails while a DJ spun upbeat tunes.
Handsome young boys in ties (my favorite signature component of BrandLink events) served delicious nibbles. The girls chatted—mostly about how busy fall is—while the gentlemen played pool. All in all, a lovely evening.
And, in typical Georgetown fashion, the event was a charity function. A percentage of the evening’s shopping proceeds benefited the Trust for the National Mall.
