An event that supports a greater purpose is my favorite kind to attend. If the event just so happens to include delicious South American wine, then that’s just the cherry on top.
I was invited to attend the Bodegas Salentein wine tasting at Texas de Brazil, benefitting the American Red Cross Service of Armed Forces. Texas de Brazil is a South American steakhouse brand with locations all around the world, and Chicago happens to have one tucked away in the Magnificent Mile.
I was given a plus one, and decided to bring my fellow blogger friend, Jesi, along for the fun event.
The space inside of Texas de Brazil is expansive, modern, and vibrant with a variety of colored glass accents, metallic fixtures, and a 50 ingredient salad bar—yes, a salad bar that makes any kind of salad possible. It looked amazing and incredibly tempting.
Texas de Brazil and Bodegas Salentein partnered for this dinner, benefitting the American Red Cross Service of Armed Forces. Since Texas de Brazil establishments are across the country, events featuring Bodegas Salentein’s wine were held in Chicago, Columbus, Fort Worth, Miami, and more, throughout the week.
Texas de Brazil sent out bites of sausage, sirloin, crostini, cheese bread, and more, as we sipped delicious wines from the Killka label, within the Bodegas Salentein wine empire. The Killka vineyards are in Mendoza, Argentina, and the Killka family used some of their personal art collection to inspire some of the labels for each of the wines.
We tried a variety of red and whites wines as the delicious samples of authentic South American bites made their way around the table. The Malbec blends were my favorite, and Argentina boasts 75% of all Malbec acres in the world so it makes sense that there were many glasses of Malbec.
I’m so happy I had a chance to try Texas De Brazil and I will be making my way back there for the endless buffet, and copious amounts of wine. Helpful hint: May 25th is National Wine Day and Texas De Brazil is going to be featuring all of their wines for $5 a glass. So, on May 25th, you know where I’ll be!
