Thanks to my regular readership of City Shop Girl and Capitol Hill Style, I found out about the Rebecca Taylor trunk show at Urban Chic in advance—allowing me to skip out of work early Friday to stop by. Also, thanks to my shopping addiction, I’d already previewed Rebecca Taylor’s Spring 2010 collection online.
As I’ve vented before, M Street in Georgetown, like much of D.C., lacks unique shopping options. But, if you trek up Wisconsin, you stumble upon a few adorable, unique boutiques like Urban Chic and Sassanova, my two favorites.
You can tell Urban Chic puts a lot of thought into their inventory and layout—it’s visually appealing and very tempting. (A shopaholic’s dream/worst nightmare, if you will).
The atmosphere at Urban Chic was festive, with royal blue and hot pink balloons, two key colors from Rebecca’ Taylor’s Spring 2010 line.
Champagne and a plethora of Georgetown Cupcakes (hooray!) were provided.
Also, you could enter a raffle to win a Rebecca Taylor top and her clothing was 15% off.
Rebecca Taylor’s clothing is always feminine and up beat with ruffles, flowers, bright colors and exquisite tailoring. I had to restrain myself from buying this outfit right off the mannequin.
Oh, Urban Chic, I will be back soon to snatch up your stunning party dresses, great selection of designer jeans and cute cotton tops.
