It’s no secret I love Glen’s Garden Market—the local, sustainability oriented market serves up a delicious brunch, stocks my favorite #MadeinDC goodies and coconut ice cream, and hosts a monthly Tasting Table that will knock your socks off. (Read our picnic How To’s with Glen’s Garden Market here.)
I go to Glen’s quite a bit—but I hadn’t been for happy hour. When I saw that Glen’s was participating in the Passport Program, I decided that was just the excuse I needed.
The Passport Program is a nifty booklet that you buy for twenty bucks and then you receive two-for-one deals at more than 50 restaurants and bars across DC. Each time you visit a participating location, you get your passport stamped—it’s a fun way to try new spots, explore your city, and compete with your friends. I love any excuse to be a lush. Speaking of a boozy summer, you can read our DC Happy Hour Guide here.
Glen’s has a great bar program, with local beers, by the bottle, on tap, and available via the growler program. They also serve local wines—just buy a wine card and pour yourself a glass from the nifty wine dispenser machine on the wall. When you have a Passport, cards are half off–$10 for $10 worth of wine.
We ordered rosé, of course, and a cheese plate, which was $15 for more delicious, local cheeses than you can eat in one sitting. It as glorious, sitting on the shaded patio outside Glen’s enjoying a gourmet, local, experience, at an affordable price.
