My love of nautical fashions knows no limits. I have unparalleled amounts of navy-and-white, Breton striped tees, rope bracelets and belts, Sperry Topsiders, jewelry with anchors, and more in my closet. There’s something classic, preppy, and charming about a hint of the seashore in your attire.
However, with the ease of recreating these sorts of looks, the trend can a bit played out. And, we’re always looking for something new, unique and creative in the fashion world.
Cue The Ropes of Maine, a line of chic-yet-preppy bracelets made in Maine from marine ropes and hardware. The designer, Shana Ready, is a stunningly gorgeous grad of the Rhode Island School of Design (affectionately known as RISD) who spent time in New York and Boston before returning to her roots in Maine to found The Ropes.
The bracelets come in a variety of styles and colors– neutrals, neons, metallics, and more– in addition to the traditional nautical navy-white-and-pink or red-white-and-blue. There are new lines each season, and the amount of options are seemingly endless, proving Ready’s “innovative flare for mixing stylish trends with traditional materials.”
Ready was kind enough to send the Bitches a wristful of bracelets—so we’re giving away two to two lucky readers. To enter, just (1) Follow @BtchesWhoBrunch and @TheRopesMaine on Twitter, (2) Like Bitches Who Brunch and The Ropes Maine on Facebook and (3) leave your name in the comments below.
