According to The New York Times, popsicles are the new dessert craze—competing with cupcakes, gelato, and macaroons for the title of top trend. Down south in the great state of North Carolina, Loco Pops initiated the trend with locations in Chapel Hill (my alma matter), Durham, and Raleigh.

Well, popsicles have arrived in Washington with the opening of Pleasant Pops—a popsicle cart that serves weekly at the Mt. Pleasant Farmer’s Market on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., reports Prince of Petworth. Pleasant Pops are inspired by paletas, a traditional Mexican ice pop, and feature crazy cool seasonal flavors like Strawberries and Cream, Cucumber Chile, Strawberry Rhubarb, Blackberries and Cream; and year-round faves like Carrot Apple Ginger, Butter Pecan, and—wait for it—Blueberry Pancake. It’s hot. Have a popsicle!
