Bluejacket Brewery Tour Recap

I love Navy Yard, but never seem to get to spend enough time over there. Just off the beaten path of my normal routine, I always try to find excuses to visit the yard. I planned a packed day: first up trapezing, then lunch, and then a brewery tour of Bluejacket Brewery.

Needless to say after a busy and frightening morning, my date and I were ready for a drink. We love the vibe at Bluejacket and couldn’t wait to learn more about their story and beer.

The tour was excellent. There were only four of us that day, so we got all of our questions answered and got to focus on the aspects we wanted to learn more about. The manager, Alex, gave a great tour and you could tell she really loved her job and the process of brewing beer.

Bluejacket brews their beer using gravity and starts the process on the top floor of their space. The beer makes it way down to the different levels gathering all of the different levels of complexity along the way.

We received four snifters of various types of beer throughout the tour. Each one was unique and showcased all of the different types of beer they specialize in. The tour concluded with a snifter of our choice down at the bar.

We joined the dozens of other sports fans watching various games in the bar area as we enjoyed our final taste of Bluejacket’s finest brews. The food smelled amazing, the beer was all incredible, and the energy was high. We’ll definitely be back for food and booze.
