Happy Thanksgiving, Bitches! While today may be my Father’s favorite holiday as there is football, food, and no gift-giving requirements. (i.e. he doesn’t have to buy presents for me!) My mother and I much prefer tomorrow, Black Friday, where there’s lots of shopping and not a lot of cooking.
If you’re in Washington, and want to combine the Bitches two favorite hobbies–brunch and shopping–here’s a list of restaurants serving up brunch on Black Friday.
After all, you’re going to need a mimosa after braving those early morning crowds of ravenous shoppers.
Blind Dog Cafe, a hip cafe on U Street with pastries, sandwiches, breakfast and more, will be open on Black Friday. We have yet to review it, but I’ve been for coffee and loved the ambiance.
944 Florida Ave. N.W., Washington, D.C. (202) 290-2865
Boqueria is serving brunch from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., offering a special $35 prix fixe menu for bottomless, but everyone at the table must order the brunch special to snag the deal.

1837 M Street N.W., Washington, D.C. (202) 558-9545
Cafe Deluxe is serving brunch from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Be warned– we were not happy campers with their brunch.
The Bitches said: D. Awful service, moldy fruit (I’m still traumatized), rubbery steak, and other such horrors.
Locations in Washington, D.C., Chevy Chase, Tyson’s Corner and Gaithersburg.
Commissary, a reliable Logan Circle spot, will be serving brunch. The banana pancakes are money and the fried food is damn good.

Firefly in Dupont opens at 9 a.m. and serves brunch until 2 p.m. The restaurant recently redesigned and will have a menu of comfort food staples ready. We loved the French fries and Bennys at Firefly. Plus, we hear the mimosas are cheap.

The Pig in Logan Circle is one of my favorite spots– despite the fact I don’t eat meat. The Pig had a cozy ambiance, played 60s tunes and served up lots of Southern comfort food and veggies. Not unlike a damn good Thanksgiving spread. The Pig will be serving brunch on Black Friday.
