Bitch Birthday Cocktail: Lavagna’s B.C.S

Bitches Who Brunch turns five this month! It’s been an incredible journey bringing the Bitching to Washington, D.C., New York, and Chicago. Thanks for reading and sharing along the way.

To join us in the toast to five years, chefs and mixologists are putting special “Bitch” cocktails on their brunch menus all this month! Over the next two weeks, we’ll give you the recipes behind the Bitch Birthday cocktails and profile the men and women behind them.

We’d love to host you at a special Bitches Who Brunch birthday brunch celebration at Barcelona Wine Bar on April 19. Click here for information and to get tickets.

We’re also giving away an unbelievable birthday gift—a bundle of amazing goodies and gift cards from our partners, plus we’ll take you to a personal brunch with the Bitches! To enter, simply tweet, Instagram or Facebook your Bitchy Birthday message, tagging us and using the hashtag #BitchesTurns5. We’ll select a winner today, Friday, April 17.

Barracks Row has turned into a dining destination as of late thanks to hot restaurants from celebrity chefs. However, we find ourselves coming back time and again to our go-to Capitol Hill spot Lavanga. Whether we’re looking for traditional brunch fare or classic Italian recipes with a twist, this is the place for us.

Thanks to our “regulars” status, Lavagna was kind enough to make us a custom Bitch cocktail, “The B.C.S.”, for our 5th birthday. Although we would never turn down a traditional mimosa, this twist on a prosecco cocktail made with a spiced strawberry syrup and a fresh hint of rosemary hit the spot. We’ll be ordering it at all of our Lavagna brunches and maybe even with pasta at dinner because, hey, it’s our birthday.

A Note from Lavagna: “Happy Fifth Birthday to our favorite Bitches! We’ve had a blast following you over the years. May your future be filled with all the brunches and bubbly you deserve.”
