Two Times the Tapas! Boqueria Opens New Location in Penn Quarter
by Dannah Strauss
Whenever a restaurant multiplies, it’s a sign that the business, hospitality, and concept are clearly working. Boqueria’s Dupont location has been a tapas hot spot in the restaurant desert that is the corporate epicenter of D.C. It took time, patience, and a lot of R&D to create something familiar, but fresh and new for Boqueria’s second location in Penn Quarter.
The two-year effort was lead by chef Marc Vidal, beverage director Kieran Chavez, founder Yann De Rochefort, and many more boots-on-the-ground individuals. Libations and provisions are the same as the Dupont location, but the atmosphere is more sleek, sophisticated, and ready for your next large brunch party, or intimate dinner gathering.
This is one of our favorite Spanish restaurants in D.C. and its seamless integration into a new neighborhood only makes it feel more like a District staple. The quality of ingredients, the integrity of place, and hospitable kindness are a reason this spot has doubled—and why loyal patrons and new customers alike will line up for a snack, a drink, and a paella the size of your entire table.
The Boqueria location in Dupont is an essential bottomless brunch spot, so we don’t expect anything less from the new Penn Quarter outpost. Brunch debuts on Saturday, March 30th. Stay tuned for the new brunch review coming soon!
