Gold Cup, Ball on the Mall, a fabulous brunch, Cinco de Mayo … You know you had a crazy packed weekend when you pass out at 8 o’clock on a Sunday night and sleep for a solid 12 hours. Whoops! Here’s to another great week.

Today and tomorrow it’s What’s Next DC, a marketing and communications conference that’s all about brainstorming, case studies, energy, networking, and strategy. I’ll be at the closing party at the British Embassy tomorrow night and trying to catch a few sessions at Studio Theatre and the Hamilton. Get tickets here.

It’s all-you-can-eat mussels night at Policy, our favorite night of the week. Head to the 14th Street mainstay for delicious food and half-priced bottles of wine. It’s our go-to spot for a casual but great weeknight dinner. Policy, 1904 14th Street N.W., Washington, D.C.

Tabandeh and the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund are hosting an exclusive Mother’s Day shopping event benefiting OCRF. Hosted by Kate Benett, Rebecca Cooper, and Melaine Privitera. RSVP to [email protected] today. 6:30 p.m., 5300 Wisconsin Ave, Washington, D.C.

Head to the Swap In The City charity swap party and fashion show Thursday night at 1776. Attendees dropping off their luxury swaps will be greeted with complimentary cocktails and treats, get style tips from local experts, and meet a wave of style-savvy startup founders. All unswapped items will be donated to the Goodwill of Greater Washington and a portion of the event ticket proceeds will benefit Becky’s Fund. Get tickets here.

The Great Gatsby comes out tonight. Hope you got your tickets early. But before the movie, head to dinner at the brand-new Mi Cocina, a Tex-Mex fav in Dallas, which opens tonight in The Collection in Chevy Chase. 5471 Wisconsin Ave.

I’m dragging a gaggle of friends to the Sweetlife Festival this Saturday to see headliners Phoenix and Passion Pit. The annual music festival, held at Merriweather Post Pavilion, brought to us by, yes, our favorite salad company, is going to be one rockin’ day. Get tickets here.

In anticipation of Mother’s Day, take mom for a little Saturday night pampering. Men Against Breast Cancer is hosting its first annual Pink & Blue Mother’s Day Pampering the Women We Live event at L2 Lounge in Georgetown. Details here. 6-10 p.m. L2 Lounge, 3315 Cady’s Alley N.W., Washington, D.C.

It’s Mother’s Day. Do you have your brunch reservations? This afternoon we’ll debut our top picks for taking your mom to brunch on Sunday.

Over the last couple of weeks, we had two fab giveaways, one for GrohNola and the other for Bakon Vodka and bloody mary mix.

For the GrohNola giveaway, we had three winners! Miss Jilian told us she plans to get healthy by “eating cleaner and training to run the Double Dumbo Dare in Disneyland Labor Day Weekend. It’s running a 10k on Saturday and and half marathon on Sunday! Lots of running for me this summer.” Go Jilian!

Heather wants to know, “Does yoga and margaritas count as a healthy answer?” We say yes! Finally, Lindsay said, “I recently started rock climbing. This summer, I’m taking it outdoors!” Go girl! The rest of you can still get GrohNola with 10% discount by clicking here and typing “bwb”.

The winner of the Bakon Voldka giveaway, Miss Shelley, told us she likes her bloody marys “Like my men—spicy, cold, and tomato-y. Wait, that doesn’t work, but that’s how I like my bloody marys. Preferably outside on a nice day or inside on a cold day or even inside on a nice day. I guess just not outside on a cold day because then I’m usually miserable and running for the nearest place to warm up.” We totally agree, Shelley.
