It’s time to officially kick off summer, and we have just the party to properly do that: The Electric Summer Brunch. We’re co-hosting this epic brunch party with RaiseDC to raise money for DC Greens. The bottomless brunch dance party will sell out quickly, so gather your friends and get tickets early.


Wednesday, we’re hosting the grand opening of Britt Ryan, an adorable high end women’s boutique in Georgetown on Wisconsin Ave. There will be prosecco, cupcakes, and gelato, and steep discounts on beautiful summer brunch wear. RSVP here. We’ll see you there, kittens.

We suggest a relaxing Monday night dinner at Zengo. The fusion restaurant is introducing its third “Test Kitchen” series, featuring the cuisine and spirits of one Latin and one Asian country.  The result is a menu of specialty small plates and cocktails that showcase the flavors and techniques from each region. 781 7th St. N.W., Washington, D.C.


All this month, El Centro DF is celebrating its annual guacamole festival. (Um, did you know that our beloved guac dates back to Aztec times?). Now you can try all different recipes at the 14th Street restaurant by ordering the Guacamole Toastada Sampler, a tasting of Norteno, Pacifico & Sur guacamoles with mini toastadas, habanero salsa, and tomatillo salsa. Like we said, we’re hosting the grand opening of Britt Ryan, a signature boutique. Arrr! Join Guest of a Guest aboard the new Boomerang Pirate Ship for a Pirate Party! The event departs from the Georgetown Waterfront for a Potomac River sunset cruise where you’ll get to drink lots of grog, dance to DJs, and smile for Guest of a Guest photographers. Not ready to party like a pirate? Head to Urban Chic for the first of its new trunk show series featuring local designers. “Urban Chic Loves DC Design” kicks off with a reception from 6 to 9 p.m. showcasing The Shirt by Rochelle Behrens, gorgeous lux handbags from Blair Ritchey, and handmade jewelry from KOLTON.J. 1626 Wisconsin Ave N.W., Washington, D.C.



It’s Pride Week! Brightest Young Things and Capital Pride are hosting the Official 2013 Pride Opening Superhero Party at the newly restored historic Wonder Bread Factory. The LGBTA friendly party will feature a ton of music performances. As for the dress code, “As always, there is no dress code, but we recommend dressing as your favorite superhero or villain. The Pride Parade starts at 4pm, so pre-party with us at The Electric Summer Brunch at Policy. The event, a brunch-DJ-dance-rager, is co-hosted with RaiseDC and benefits DC Greens. It’s super to be epic. The American Institute of Wine and Food (AIWF) and The Source by Wolfgang Puck are hosting the eighth annual crab cake competition. An annual tradition designed to raise funds for culinary internships, scholarships and educational programs, the contest will pit eight of the area’s top chefs against one another in a crab cake showdown utilizing Department-verified Maryland blue crab. Tickets are $70, get them here.
