So this week’s This Week post is brought to you by Becca. Which means there are two things to do: party and eat. Enjoy …
Tonight, get some good karma by drinking with the WGirls DC for an excellent cause, WEAVE (Women Empowered Against Violence). The money raised ($5 entry, extra donations welcome) will give women and children the support and resources they need to rise above violence. It’s at CoCo Sala in Penn Quarter from 6 to 9. Deets here.
We hope you got your tickets early to the Washingtonian’s sold-out Best of Washington Party at the National Building Museum tomorrow. Guests will get to nibble on food from more than 50 of DC’s best restaurants and sample cocktails from the area’s best bars. Nom nom nom.
Thursday evening, FotoWeek DC will host their Summer Kickoff Party at the Corcoran Gallery. Cocktails, small bites, plus music by Matthew Hemerlein + DJ Chris Nitti will get you excited for this fall’s event, which will be November 6-13. Hope you got your tickets early, because it’s sold out.
I wouldn’t miss this for the world: Friday night’s Hirshhorn After Hours. Nothing but awesome dance music, art, interesting people, and booze (Read why it’s so much fun). Live performances Karl Marks, Brandon Joseph Neukam, Sunrize Highway, and a special appearance by Summer Camp. DJs Matt Bailer and Bil Todd will be spinning. Can’t wait. Join me.
Check out Estadio, DC’s newest Spanish restaurant, which just opened last week. It’s from the same people who brought us Proof, one of my favorite DC restaurants, so it’s guaranteed to be amazing. We also heard rumors of Slushitos, boozy Spanish slushies. And, with this summer heat, that sounds rather amazing. 1520 14th St NW, at Church St., Washington, DC 20005; 202-319-1404.
Artisa Kitchen is DC’s new monthly supper club. It’s a 12-course dinner at an “undisclosed location” each month. Sounds fabulous. Check it out.
