And just like that, it’s the last week of September! After spending the weekend in upstate New York and feeling those forty degree temperatures, I’m more than ready to break out my flannels. This week is shaping up to truly a “10” in both temps and social activities. Check out our event picks below.

Celebrity chef Geoffrey Zakarian is bringing his famed Food Talks series to the 92nd Street Y to chat with actor Neil Patrick Harris and his husband, chef and actor David Burtka. Zakarian, the man behind The Lambs Club and many other well-known restaurants, will talk with Harris and Burtka about their career highlights, upcoming projects, and of course, their favorite eats. 92Y 1395 Lexington Ave, 7:30 p.m.

If you’ve been meaning to check out Red Hook, you now you have the perfect excuse. At the 10th annual Taste of Red Hook, more than 50 restaurants, breweries, wineries, and distilleries will come together for a night of food, drinks, and fun. This event is a fundraiser for the Red Hook Initiative, and all proceeds will benefit the work of the organization. Liberty Warehouse, 260 Conover St. Brooklyn, NY, 6-9 p.m.

Make this Hump Day a productive one at Square’s annual Ladies Who Launch event. Mix and mingle with local women entrepreneurs and business owners as you enjoy an evening of fireside chats, interactive, educational sessions, and more. This year’s keynote speaker is Christy Turlington Burns, supermodel and founder of Every Mother Counts.

It might only be Thursday, but we’re already thinking about this weekend’s brunch, and we bet you are too. Text your brunch buddies, and make plans to check out Maman Greenpoint, which just recently launched a delicious weekend brunch. The seasonal South of France menu features a slew of drool-worth dishes, including crepes lasagna, carmelized grapefruit, and panatea matcha green tea waffles. Mamman Greenpoint, 80 Kent St. Brooklyn, NY, Saturday and Sunday: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Want to show off how much you know about wine? Then head to the third annual Consumer Blind Tasting at Papillon Bistro where guests will guess what wines they’re drinking — there will be 20 different selections — and whoever correctly identifies the most wines will be named the champion and receive a 12 bottle case of wine.  22 E 54th St

Grub Street is taking over the Hester Street Fair for its annual can’t-miss food and drink festival. The festival is a celebration of NYC’s varied food scene and features more than 50 unique vendors, including OddFellows Ice Cream, House of Mac, Grilled Cheese Alley, and A Cake Baked in Brooklyn. There will also be a beer garden and live music. 11 a.m. – 6 p.m., Corner of Hester and Essex

For the next several weeks, Mochidoki’s fabulous cart of mochi ice cream will be set up in Broadway Market Co., New York’s newest co-retail hotspot at Broadway and Broome in SoHo. If you’ve got a party to host or want a sweet treat to bring for sharing, one of Mochidoki’s holiday gift boxes is perfect.
