It wouldn’t be National Linguine Day without the mother of all Linguine dishes: Linguine alle Vongole. For the best takes on this classic Italian dish, Linguine lovers head to Alfredo 100 for their Linguine Alle Vongole Nel Gusico, Linguine with fresh clams in a white or red sauce or Tutto Il Giorno where this chic Italian eatery (in Tribeca and the Hamptons) pairs fresh East Coast clams with flamed summer tomatoes and a sprinkle of parsley for the linguine. Try the dish for yourself; more information here. 7 E 54th St, New York, NY

The Stone Street Oyster Festival is Manhattan’s largest outdoor oyster festival. Over the past two years, NYOW successfully recycled a large number of oyster shells from this event, which were collected by students from NY Harbor School and used for Oyster Reef Restoration Programs in NY Harbor and beyond. Besides being for a great cause, spending a sunny Sunday afternoon slurping oysters and sipping brews sounds pretty great to us. More information here. 58 Stone St, New York, NY
