This Week in NYC: July 7-13

I’m spreading my “I-missed-the-entirety-of-July-4th-traffic-yesterday” good luck to all of you today. I woke up this morning with an extra pep in my step, and it was mainly because I feel like I won back hours of my life that I’d already planned on losing to depressing, beach-departing traffic. That, and I’ve got a fresh tan. Once my luck and tan starts fading, I’ll be turning to the following social calendar to get me through the rest of this week.

What better way to kick off your week than with gelato? The famed Italian gelateria Amorino opened its second pair of NYC doors last week in Chelsea, offering signature flower-shaped scoops of intricately-sculpted gelato. 162 8th Ave

We hope you didn’t blow all of your cash on Hamptons shotskis for the 4th, because boutiques Otte Pop and Owen are hosting epic summer sales this week. This means upwards of 90% off brands like Opening Ceremony and Rag & Bone. Otte Pop, 193 Bedford Ave at N. 6th Street, Williamsburg BK. Owen, 809 Washington Street, Meatpacking

Untamed Sandwiches, a great lunch spot in Bryant Park, will start serving breakfast sandwiches for all of our midtown friends, with eggs and “other crazy ingredients” today. This has got to beat any shady corner market you’ve been halfheartedly committing to on your struggling work mornings. The Bitches love good options. 43 West 39th Street

Tonight feels like a special occasion..there’s one more day until the weekend! Celebrate at Gramercy’s newest hotspot Elan, which features French fare and rotating art installations by photorealist Chuck Close. 43 East 20th Street, Gramercy

There’s no better place to eat oysters on a Friday evening than on a historic wooden schooner docked in the Hudson, overlooking views of Manhattan while you sip on inventive cocktails. Enter: the summer’s hottest new anchored bar, Grand Banks. Pier 25 at Hudson River Park, Tribeca

Venture out to Williamsburg for brunch to try The Commodore’s recently launched weekend brunch – there’s not much to dislike about fried chicken biscuits and a break from NYC. 366 Metropolitan Ave, Brooklyn

Our favorite time of the week! Brunch at recently reviewed Monument Lane – don’t miss out on the bacon bourbon bloody and the chicken and waffles. 103 Greenwich Ave. (West Village)
