Laissez les bon temps rouler, Bitches! It’s Fat Tuesday! New York may not be New Orleans, but there are a ton of ways to celebrate Mardi Gras all over the city. Duane Park in SoHo is hosting a Mardis Gras Soiree, featuring a Southern-style three-course meal and a parade of performers that will make the French Quarter jealous. Bourbon Street Bar & Grille is also hosting a Mardi Gras Party, with drink specials, jambalayas, po boys, and slices of King Cake! If dancing to jazz is more your thing, head to Brooklyn for The Bell House’s Mardi Gras Bash, with performances by the Hungry March Band and Jonathan Toubin. Various locations; tickets and reservations may be required.

Leave your man at home tonight, and head to Bagatelle for the Valentine’s Day edition of Pour Elle! This ladies’ night event features a fashion show by Elyvette Styles, an open bar from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., and a chocolate tasting. The icing on the cake? The best fashion of the night will win a Bagatelle Champagne dinner! Email [email protected] for reservations. One Little West 12th Street, New York

Squeezing in some last minute Valentine’s Day shopping before the holiday weekend? Whether you want to treat your S.O. to a one-of-a-kind New York experience, or buy them something nice from a local boutique, you can’t go wrong with any of the ideas on our Bitch-approved guide.

Celebrate Valentine’s Day a few days early with a wine and cheese pairing class aboard Yacht Manhattan. Taste five different wines, sample five artisanal cheeses that are matched with the wine, and learn the basics of wine pairing and tasting-all while cruising down the Hudson River! Get tickets here.
