Merry merry! Emily and I are already back at home with our families, but there is a plethora of fun, festive activities back in New York. The city really seems to come alive during Christmas and I can’t get enough of the lights, window displays, and skating rinks. No matter what you celebrate, we hope you have a wonderful holiday season with friends and family!
Tis the season! Get in the holiday spirit by visiting the epic light display in the Dyker Heights neighborhood in Brooklyn, the Italian-American section of Brooklyn made famous in the PBS documentary “Dyker Lights” and seen on TLC’s “Crazy Christmas Lights.” If you don’t want to DIY your own tour, try the Christmas Lights and Cannoli Tour. The tour lasts 3.5 hours and will take you through the festive homes in Dyker Heights and Bay Ridge, and includes authentic cannoli and hot chocolate from a local pasty shop. Buy tickets here. 4th Avenue between 13th and 14th Street (just off Union Square) New York, NY
If you need a little relief from meddling relatives this Christmas Eve, take the edge off with our seasonal cider cocktails. No one has to know that there’s an extra shot of rum in your cider, right?!
Take a break from JDate (or Jswipe!) and mix and mingle at the 28th annual MatzoBall, the largest Jewish singles event that spans the nation. The epic bash will go down at Capitale nightclub and tickets start at $40. Buy tickets here. 130 Bowery, New York, NY

Burn off some holiday calories dancing the night away to Deer Tick, who kicks off a six night set tonight at Brooklyn Bowl. The alt-country ensemble is celebrating 10 years together and will play full-album cover sets. More information here. 61 Wythe Ave, Brooklyn, NY
