The Memorial Day weekend gave us two of our favorite activities: honoring our nation’s veterans and welcoming summer. Between spending times with friends and family at a backyard barbecue or sunning poolside, we’ll hope you’ll also pencil in these fabulous events happening around town this week. Cheers to our many heroic veterans and the U S of A, Bitches.

While we have no doubt about our favorite area chefs’ abilities in the kitchen, we’re eager to see them try their hands behind the bar. Chefs Behind Bars, happening at Capitol Hill’s Stanton and Greene, gives seven areas chefs their chance to sling cocktails in the name of charity. Sample libations from the toques behind Birch and Barley, Mango Tree, Rural Society, Jack Rose, Vidalia, Stick Fingers, and the Juniper. Tickets are $45, get them here.
