It’s going to be a glorious week in Washington. We’re hosting the sold-out debut of the Navy Yard Penthouse Pool, but if you didn’t get tickets, there are plenty of other fun events happening, as well!
Summer is literally around the corner (where did spring go?), so I may or may not be panicking about bikini season. Either way, we get our energy from fresh fruits and vegetables, and the easiest and tastiest solution is daily cold-pressed juice from Jrink. The company (and our newest Bitch Biz partner) has a couple of locations in Washington (and a new one opening next week!) but also hand-delivers the delicious juices straight to your home or office. Check ‘em out.
Head to Adams Morgan Tuesday evening to sample the neighborhood’s most delicious eats. The Taste of Adams Morgan event offers small plates of restaurants’ signature dishes to raise funds for Mary’s Center, an Adams Morgan-born health center. Get tickets here.
Celebrate spring in Washington with your best and biggest hat! Join the President Woodrow Wilson House for its annual benefit to support the historic preservation of President Wilson’s historic D.C. residence. The evening event will feature live music, Spring Hats and specialty cocktails in the President’s two-tiered back garden. Prizes will be awarded to Spring Hats for Best Fascinator, Best Use of Flowers, Best Men’s, Most Creative and Show Stopper. Get tickets here.
We hope you got your tickets early to join us and Three Day Rule as we welcome summer with a cocktail party on the roof of the Penthouse Pool and Lounge. Your $25 ticket covers your entry and open bar, and while these are sold out, private cabanas are available for reservation. A portion of the proceeds will go to Becky’s Fund, a DC-based advocacy organization that works to empower survivors, educate youth, and engage activism around issues of dating and domestic violence. White attire politely requested. Get your cabana here.
Birds of a feather? Friday night, flock together to a champagne and art event at the Arthur M. Sackler Gallery. Enjoy an exclusive preview of Peacock Room REMIX: Darren Waterston’s Filthy Lucre, on public view for the first time in Washington. The dazzling event continues when guests “flock together” at the after-party held in the Andrew W. Mellon Auditorium. Into the night guests enjoy drinks, a dessert buffet, and dancing with a special performance by BETTY, the rock band that composed and recorded the mesmerizing soundscape for Filthy Lucre. Get tickets here.
The Friday night opening party is sold out, but we’ll be heading to the new Indiana Jones exhibit on Saturday to check it out. The exhibition features real fascinating archaeological artifacts, along with an extensive collection of original Indiana Jones film materials. Head there over the weekend. Get more information here. 1145 17th Street NW.
Michel Richard’s Central is open during extended hours during the weekends in May! The special extended brunches and Sunday night dinners are to celebrate spring, Mother’s Day, graduations and more. Usually dark on Sunday nights, Central will open for Sunday Dinner for three Sundays in May. Central’s outdoor Patio has increased seating, and the patio now features an afternoon menu adding an all-day dining component to Central’s hours of operation. 1001 Pennsylvania Avenue, NW.
