This Week in DC: March 19-25

We might as well call this the “Cherry Blossom edition” of our weekly social calendars. Here’s what we’re up to this week as we brace ourselves for the alleged snowstorm and anxiously await the arrival of spring.

Jump start your week with a free workout at Georgetown Athleta. The DC Run Crew is hosting their HIIT & Run session led by DC’s run master @Fit_Tram and awesome crew leader team. This hybrid workout mixes HIIT (High-Intensity Interval Training) with anaerobic and aerobic cardio designed for every fitness level. 7pm-8:30pm, register here.

Your feed is probably blowing up with the Sakura Yume Cherry Blossom Dream interactive exhibit at Artechouse. You know you want to experience the latest instal-worthy exhibit for yourself, but viewing slots are booking up. Snag one and an interactive cocktail for a date night, here.

Salsa your way through the week with free lessons at El Centro D.F. in Georgetown every Wednesday starting at 9pm. Grab a friend, loosen up with $5 margaritas all night long, then get your booty on the dance floor! Find more details, here.

This week kicks off the Greek Spirit Festival at Zaytinya. The festival begins on March 19 and runs through Greek Independence Day, March 23. Throughout the festival, Zaytinya will honor Greek spirits with a nightly Mezze Hora in the bar (Monday-Friday, 5-6:30pm) and tastings of spirits like oak aged tsipouro. The team will also feature special cocktails such as the Tsipouro Sour (tsipouro, aquafaba, lime, orange blossom), The Mastiha Cooler (gin, mastiha, cucumber-mint, bitter lemon) and the O’Kerási (cherry-infused tsipouro, vermouth, bitters). The Greek Spirit tastings will take place from 5-6:30pm. Visit the website to learn more

Celebrate Thirsty Thursday at the bar with Joselito. While their brunch, lunch, and dinner is a treat, posting up for happy hour at their gorgeous bar is a stunning and affordable way to decompress after a long day. “Hemingway Hour” (aka happy hour) takes place Monday through Friday from 4-7 p.m. where food and beverage at the bar is 20% off. 660 Pennsylvania Avenue SE

The Cherry Blossoms are set to peak this weekend, so kick-off the annual celebration at Drink Company’s infamous Cherry Blossom pop-up bar. Brace yourself for a line, festival cocktails, and one-of-a-kind experiences. Click here for location and more details.

Book your reservations for one of our recent favorite brunches, The Salt Line, Evening Star, Bluestone Lane, and Barrel.

BYO yoga mat! Cap off your weekend with a little flow, followed by a beer at DC Brau. $15 will get you a yoga class and a pint. Find more information and register, here.
