Hey, Bitches! We hope you had a great rainy July Fourth! Now that the long weekend is over (womp, womp),  keep your chin up and check out all the best happenings on this great holiday and throughout the rest of the first week of July.

Tuesday

Head to Georgetown Waterfront Park on Tuesday nights at sunset for Georgetown’s second annual free outdoor movie series! Georgetown Sunset Cinema 2016 kicks off tonight and runs through August 2nd. Georgetown restaurants will be on-site or offer delivery/to-go before the movies. Grab a blanket, bring a picnic, and head to the beautiful Georgetown Waterfront Park to view films with the panoramic backdrop of the sunset, Potomac River and Key Bridge. Movies start at sunset, but go early to picnic and get best seating and score giveaways. The intersection of W/Water Street and Cecil Place N.W.

Wednesday

Fellowcraft and Rainbow Kitten Surprise are performing at Black Cat tonight at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are only $12. Head to happy hour on 14th Street beforehand! 1811 14th St. N.W., Washington, D.C.

Please join Net Impact and Mentor Capital Network for an evening with Honest Tea. Led by Seth Goldman, “TeaEO” of Honest Tea, you will have the opportunity to hear from the Honest Tea leadership, sample Honest Tea’s newest drinks, and mingle with fellow Net Impact members and staff of the Mentor Capital Network. Tea and refreshments will be provided. Guests will have the opportunity to network with like-minded professionals and students, hear several different perspectives on Honest Tea, engage with Net Impact leadership, and learn more about the exciting ideas coming out of the Mentor Capital Network. The event is free and begins at 6 p.m. 4827 Bethesda Ave., Bethesda, MD.

Thursday

Join Poppy’s Pop-Up for an evening under the stars where they pair amazing wine from Sonoma County, California, with a three-course family style meal! Chef Andrew Markert and Pastry Chef Jennifer Costa will dazzle your taste buds with local produce while you make new friends in this family style relaxed environment. Part of the proceeds from this dinner will benefit Mary’s Center, a local non-profit in the District of Columbia. Tickets are $95. The dinner is from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. at a secret, undisclosed location.

Chef Yana Gilbuena and artist Malaka Gharib of The Little Filipino Food Coloring Book are teaming up for a series of popup Filipino brunches and dinners with menus inspired by the coloring book. Guests will have a chance to color pages of the foods they’re about to eat–then eat them in real life. The $45 ticket price includes a coloring book. Get tickets to one of the five pop-up meals at from July 7th to 9th. 703 Edgewood St. N.E., Washington, D.C.

Each week Cork & Fork feature two comparison flights with perfect wine varietal pairings from their selection of wines. This week, they’re sharing a flight of three Pinot Gris (paired with cheese plate) and three Gewurztraminers (paired with cheese plate). Friday

Truckeroo is coming back at ya! Join the best food trucks of D.C. today from 11 a.m.-11 p.m. for some of tastiest grub you’ll ever put in your mouth. There will be more than 25 trucks, live music, and beverages for purchase. Entry is free. 1299 Half St. S.E., Washington, D.C.

The Bluejacket Friday Night Tasting Tour is a special brewery tour that is offered weekly. Upon arrival, guests will be treated to one of a signature drafts, followed by a full tour of the brewery and operations with three tasters throughout the tour. At the conclusion, guests will head to the Bottle Shop & Tasting Room to enjoy a flight of three additional tasters each expertly paired with snacks. Tickets are $35. The event begins at 7 p.m. 300 Tingey St. S.E., Washington, D.C.

LUSH Wine Events Summer Tasting Series features exciting wine workshops over six weeks and includes topics like winemaking techniques, wine styles, grape varietals, and food pairings. Each session is led by Sommelier, Kim Dozier who will guide you on a tasting experience of 6 wines from around the world. Join them for this great engaging, entertaining, and educational wine event. Light bites will be served. Tickets are $35-$60. 5028 Wisconsin Ave. N.W., Washington, D.C.

Enjoy an Italian Wine Basics Class where you’ll learn everything about the tricky Italian varieties. You’ll taste Vermentino, Falanghina, Brunello, Barolo, Chianti, Amarone, and Aglianico. There will be cheese to nibble on as well. Tickets are $54. Class is from 3 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. 1025 N Fillmore St., Arlington, VA.

Sunday

Enjoy brunch at Chef Portia’s! Featuring the season’s peak produce in a warm, welcoming, and fun atmosphere. Every ingredient is organic or local. They are sourced from local businesses such as Each Peach Market, Mount Pleasant Farmers’ Market DC, Straw Stick & Brick Delicatessen, and Little Wild Things City Farm. Tickets are $40. Mount Pleasant, Washington, D.C.
