Find Brunch Right Now

This Week in DC: January 5-11

Welcome to 2015, kittens. We hope that the return to your offices was not too painstaking and you’re acclimating well to the new year. Take it one day at a time—before you know it, it’ll be Saturday and time for brunch.

It’s with heavy hearts that we bring you bad news: industry takeover night is ending. For the past few years, The first Monday of each month, Graffiato turns over the stoves to chef friends and mixologists to help co-host industry night on the first Monday of each month. Starting at 10 p.m., guest chefs serve serve complimentary late night snacks, and the bar offers drink specials, including some libations from guest mixologists. Open to the public, the event charges a $10 cash cover with 50% donated to charity. A $10 cash-only cover charge is requested at the door, and 50% is donated to a different charity benefactor each month. Tonight, it’s Fit to Fight by MIC. 10 p.m., 707 6th St. N.W., Washington, D.C.

There’s 100% chance of snow tomorrow. So, we’ll be indoors snuggling, watching Downton Abbey, and eating delicious comfort food. Thanks to a new, user-friendly app, Order Ahead, we won’t have to leave the couch. Order Ahead delivers from some of our favorite spots—Commissary, Cava, Shake Shack, Rasika. On Sunday, we ordered brunch for dinner from GBD Chicken & Doughnuts via Order Ahead. It was a perfect night of chicken biscuits, maple bacon doughnuts, more doughnuts and more chicken. So do yourself a favor, stay in and order ahead. Use the code “BWBDC” for $5 off. And, if you order brunch, tweet at the Bitches #bringmebrunch.

Are you hoping to get your finances on track in 2015? Aren’t we all. Why not plan a relaxing beauty night with your girlfriends? We love the nail saloon, a high-end mani/pedi spot that serves wine, champagne, and Cosmopolish cocktails while you’re being pampered. Manicures are $32 and pedicures are $48, beverages are complimentary.  nail saloon, 1508 14th St. N.W., 2nd Floor, Washington, D.C.

I spent this past Saturday at Aura Spa, welcoming 2015 in calm, peaceful bliss. My aesthetician, Leslie, is a miracle at facials and waxing; and the massage therapist worked out all my aches and pains from marathon training. We recommend the Metropole and U Street locations of Aura Spa, within all Vida Fitness locations.

Brunch, Bitches. Lately, we’ve loved True Food Kitchen for a healthy brunch, Second State for great cocktails, and Medium Rare for affordable, delicious steak frites and bottomless beverages.
