Is there a worse Monday than the one after Christmas? It’s doubtful, Bitches. I’ve returned from much-needed time with family and off the computer in sunny Florida. I return to a cold, dreary Washington to stare down a to-do list that seems unconquerable. Yes, I’m grouchy!

Take advantage of the empty city and enjoy one of Washington’s most sought-after restaurants. Read all about where the food critics are dining over on Eater.
It’s time for the 20th Annual Night Before New Year’s, which benefits the Washington Humane Society. To celebrate two decades of pre-NYE debauchery, the party returns to the Brixton, where it will once again have the top two floors, including the heated and glass-enclosed roof deck, so head upstairs on arrival. A $10 donation benefits the Humane Society and all-night happy hour includes $5 for all drafts and rail drinks and $6 for all wine. RSVP and more info here. 901 U St. N.W., Washington, D.C.
