We love the first few months of summer because when we get out of work, we still feel like we have another part of the day to squeeze in something fun! Check out what’s happening this week in D.C.

Volo City is an adult sports league 501(c)3 non-profit organization, providing leagues in each of its cities for kids ages 6-12 years of all genders, abilities, and races to play at zero cost to their families. They also partner with local organizations to provide free meals for younger players. Find a league, here.

Monday
Patio dining is a must in the summer. We have created a list of our favorite D.C. patios to enjoy all season long. Check out out the spots, here.

Tuesday
D.C. Harvest has an experiential cocktail program where you can taste and learn how to make three cocktails. The experience also comes with an appetizer. You can reserve your experience through their website and make an evening out to dinner a little more special. We made our way over to H Street to try it out, so you know what to expect.

Wednesday
Wolf Trap Foundation for the Performing Arts, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, produces and presents a full range of performance and education programs in the Greater Washington area, as well as nationally and internationally. Wolf Trap features three performance venues: the outdoor Filene Center and Children’s Theatre-in-the-Woods, both located at Wolf Trap National Park for the Performing Arts, and The Barns at Wolf Trap, adjacent to the Center for Education at Wolf Trap. Thursday
“Estate” is Italian for summer and with it’s arrival come distinct flavors and fresh ingredients that haven’t been available since the previous year. To welcome everyone’s favorite season and it’s fruits, Via Umbria has created a menu that features stuffed and roasted Italian long peppers as a starter, followed by spaghetti di gragnano with octopus and a fried lamb secondo. Friday
CONGRUENT is a collaboration by local artist collectives, showcasing and celebrating DC’s emerging DIY arts culture. A collective is defined as a group of entities that share or are motivated by at least one common issue or interest, or work together to achieve a common objective. Congruent seeks to showcase a small pie slice of the emerging art scene in the district using the power of an artist aiding artist support system. The high tide raises all ships

Saturday
Celebrate Father’s Day by treating him to DBGB buttery 101 course lead by Chef Nicholas Tang and DBGB’s in-house butcher. The pair will lead guests through a demonstration of DBGB’s Whole Hog presentation including how to breakdown and stuff a whole suckling pig. Flying Dog Brewery will be on hand to present a selection of four beers and educate guests on their fermentation process and how best to pair their brews with bite

Sunday
New Georgetown restaurant, 1310 Kitchen & Bar, will be celebrating dads next Sunday with a keg and egg special. Enjoy Chef Jenn Crovato’s flat iron steak with chimichurri, two eggs any style, and home fries. 1310 will also be carrying Trophy Husband Beer, a farmhouse ale from Trophy Brewing Co. This will be the Raleigh based brewery’s first expansion into the DC area. Other brunch options include banana stuffed challah French toast; smoked beef brisket hash, and pineapple coconut acai bowls.
