Find Brunch Right Now

This Week in D.C.: April 21-27

It’s the best week of the year. Why? Because the pool is opening! From this week until the end of September, you can find me brunching and sunning myself (responsibly, of course) at the Penthouse Pool. Bring on summer, Bitches!

It’s Easter Monday! If you didn’t have enough of chocolate eggs and creepy bunny costumes over the weekend, be sure to grab the family and head to the National Zoo for their annual Easter Monday tradition. There will be an egg hunt and animal demonstrations, plus live entertainment and a visit from the Easter Panda. 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. 3001 Connecticut Ave. NW.

It’s Member Appreciation Day at VIDA Fitness. Make sure to refer all your friends to join, as the Penthouse Pool opens this Thursday. Plus, they’re offering a pretty sweet referral rewards program. From April to June you’ll get $25 for the first referral, $50 for the second, and $100 for every new member after that. Or just bring them to any of the VIDA locations on Tuesday—guests are free.

We absolutely love the new STYLECABLE site of curated emerging designer clothing and accessories. As such, you’ll find us celebrating and supporting at their pop-up shop and party Wednesday evening at the 1776 Penthouse. Get an exclusive promotional discount, open bar, tasty treats, great music, and more. There will even be a lip and lash bar from Nival Salon & Spa, plus a fun photobooth from BoothLove. Get tickets here.

Get a group of friends together to Dine Out For Life Thursday evening. More than 100 restaurants are participating in the 18th annual fundraiser for Food & Friends. A percentage of sales will be donated to the organization for its life-saving services. Click here to get a full listing of the restaurants that are participating, and start making dinner plans!

At long last, STK is opening, and we’re pretty sure this will be the hottest table in town this weekend. The high-end glamorous lounge experience reminds us of a gorgeous Las Vegas restaurant. We’re checking out the modern steakhouse menu and cocktails at the grand opening Thursday. 1250 Connecticut Ave. N.W., Washington, D.C.

In Maryland? The Shops at Wisconsin Place will be celebrating Earth Day on Saturday with live music, a farmer’s market, and a look at the Josie Maran Model Citizen collection. Head there for shopping and free beauty consultations. In partnership with EarthShare and Whole Food Market Friendship Heights, the event will take place from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the outdoor patio at The Shops at Wisconsin Place.

In Virginia? Capitol City Brewing Company will host its inaugural SpringFest at The Village at Shirlington in Arlington on Saturday, from noon to 7 p.m. Capitol City will unveil its first batch of seasonal Hefeweizen, a German-style wheat beer, and will also feature several other select handcrafted beer samples. Beer enthusiasts can listen to music spun by local favorite DJ Julius, enjoy cuisine from a variety of Shirlington Village eateries and sample tasteful offerings from more than 40 local breweries including Port City, Mad Fox, Lost Rhino, Hardywood Park Craft Brewery, Apocalypse Ale Works, Sunken City and Lickinghole Creek. Admission is $30 (one general admission pass per person) and includes a wristband, official tasting glass and 10 drink tickets. 12-7 p.m., Capitol City Brewing Company, Shirlington Village, Arlington, Va.

Brunch, of course! Lately we’ve loved Bar Charley, Copperwood Tavern, and Fiola Mare.
